Our lovely pub has old fashioned values: a well kept pint, home-cooked food and a warm welcome. Simples. We think people want a pub option that isn’t a modern, over-priced pretentious gastro. We have two bars: saloon and public. Both have log burners. Owner/manager Lisa and her close team provide the chatty welcome that make you feel you have stepped back in time. The pub is based in the historic heart of Colchester City, just 5 mins walk from the train station & shopping centre. Our customers are a mix of locals, workers, shoppers & tourists, but most importantly, everybody is welcome.We do Sunday lunch (traditional roast) with pub food & snacks served daily. We have a large function room that is free to hire and an extensive beer garden. Serving up to 8 real local cask ales and a selection of 12 draught craft beers, ciders, stouts and lagers. We are dog friendly (and child friendly), and families also most welcome.
